Serendipity at Women's Conference

Women Conference 2016 was very special because I went with Mandy and invited Paola to attend it too. What was so amazing about this day Thursday April 28 was that we saw Margie and Norma coming up the stairs when we were in the auditorium with 20,000 other women in there so what are the odds we could run into each other? I guess it what I would call Serendipity. It turned out that both Margie and Kimmy were presenters too.

In Memory of Guapo

Yesterday when I called Cristi and Brooks I learned that Guapo, their family pet, was dying. He has been such a cute dog for them. Our dogs are beloved members of our family. I grew up with several dogs myself: princess, danger, negra, manchas, etc, and we had them also when my girls were little. All our dogs have been incredible and smart. My all time favorite dog was our amazing, sweet and good nature dog Patch. she lived a long life but it is always hard when they eventually go.

Guapo was the same way too. He was part of that little family for nine years  and how I wish I was with the Dames to console my grandson Nixon who stood by his side all night until Guapo took his last breath. Guapo left so many wonderful memories so in honor of dogs like Guapo I am sharing an anonymous  post I came across about "things we can learn from dogs" Enjoy!

The things we can learn from a dog:
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
Run, romp and play daily.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
When you are happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.
When it's in your best interest practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shade tree.
Never pass up an opportunity to go for a joyride.
Be loyal, always!

Con amor,
Vero

San Felipe Beach

Linda Camilleri invited me to go with her to spend two days at a Resort. She is Terah Bromley's mom from Canada who also has a home in Clear Mount Orlando so from the start we hit it right off. She has a friend in Canada who went to school with Veronica who just started her own little business. The Sunny side up Resort in San Felipe. The place is very rustic but the service is excellent. We were treated like Royalty. This took place from April 13th to the 15th. Terah's driver drove us there. He came with his wife.

This is the hut we stayed in but it did have air conditioner. We also had a regular toilet and shower. The only concern for Daniel was that he could 't reach me. For some reason my phone had no service.  I tried calling Daniel many times but nothing.

The sunsets were spectacular!

The fishermen go out each day fishing and this is a sample of the one good catch.

Veronica the owner cooked for us every meal while we were there and taught us some yoga positions and her daughter and husband taught us how to make dreamcatchers. They also taught people how to surf but I decline because frankly, I have never like the ocean all that much. I am scare of big waves and animals like sharks.

Going to the interior

Today we went to see three sites for a posible camp for the youth. The lots were not flat the way it was in the DR and Puerto Rico. These lots have fruit trees but are not on even terrain.  Also none of these lots come with a house. There was one with baby goats and sheep. I thought of Mandy when I went there and how much she would have loved feeding the goats.

Afterwards we went to the home of a guy that sells organic food and sells other things like holy, coconut oil, soap, baskets and many things home made. Later on our way home we went to see an old Cathedral built in the 1500's

We also stopped at a vendor to buy a butterfly knife and ninja knife and fruits. Daniel collects this type of knives and loves to joke about showing these knives to the sons in law.
