New Years at the MTC

What do you do to celebrate New Years? You spend the afternoon with the missionaries at the MTC  is what you do. This is a good opportunity to do something to entertain them with fun wholesome activities. This was an activity where whey had to cover a missionary with toilet paper as an armor against negative thoughts. Daniel and I were the judges. Later that night we tried going to a hotel to see the forewords but it was raining and not so much fireworks this year.

Going home

The only good thing about ending a nice vacay is actually going home in style. We were fortunate this time to get upgraded. The only thing I disliked is that we didn't get to sit together.

A day in Miami

We managed to make a quick stop in Miami on our way home from Uruguay to visit Alejandro and family. My mom, Mari, Manu, Vanessa, Ale Meraz and Mateo who were visiting from Mexico also came down to Miami to meet us. The very day we were leaving, we went to an alligator park.

Feliz Navidad

Desde Uruguay les enviamos un saludo de amor, paz y felicidad.
Uruguay fue el destino para la navidad 2018. (We took off to Uruguay on December 18th. to Dec. 26th.)

Airports

Another crazy Christmas vacay but we did it! We saw all our grandchildren this year and almost all our children except for Gabriel and Danae. Our adventured started on December 12th.

Think of all the plane tickets and time spent on airports and getting to and from one City to another. A little crazy but its all worth it just to see our babies and their babies which just melts our hearts.

This time we went to Utah first, then Daniel went to Nebraska and I went to Idaho.

I love Christmas traditions

I got ambitious and made 6 batches of cookies or 144 cookies for a cookie exchange. What was I thinking! I took half to them and the rest I put them in the freezer. The plate of cookies is what I exchanged mine for. But not only that, I also stayed all night wrapping my Christmas gifts for our Senior Missionaries and never went to bed.

Silvia's farewell

Today we had a farewell for Silva Pena who is moving back to Chile. The ladies who we minister to were invited. Mari did it in her home and I helped her. I gave her a towel with the Christmas message to remember us.

David Archuleta in Concert

I was taken by David Archuleta's humble disposition. He is the sweetest kid you would ever meet. Last night we had dinner with the donors of Mabuhay Deseret Foundation. He came to do a free concert. What a nice guy.

A shower for Lesli

Oh  yes, we love getting together as women to celebrate motherhood and what a better way than to welcome a baby into this world. Lesli is having her third baby but the two other sibling are much older. For her is like starting over.

Sister Skinner decorated the place so beautiful with an elephant  theme with matching napkins and all.

Elder Carl B. cook is in the Philippines!

What a treat for us to have Elder Carl B. Cook visiting the Philippines. He is one of the Elders who overlook this area and we couldn't be more happy. He gave a nice devotional with questions and answers and went with Daniel to look at a temple site.

Baby shower for Kathleen

Kathleen who is moving back to Canada had a baby shower before she left even thought she is not even showing. A  baby shower is always a good excuse to get together at the office. This is her first baby.

Party at the office for children

Every year around halloween, the office has a special kids days out for all the employee's children. The theme this year was about the United Nations and kids had to come dressed like people of a nation in the world. There were so many children who came because the party gets better and better each year. I had bought an outfit in Baguio but decided last minute to come dressed like a Hawaiian.

A wedding, family events, doctors, General Conference, meetings and more!

From September 27th to October 12 , 2018 we were in Utah. We came a week early than usual because of Nacho's wedding. The Presiding Bishopric granted permission for Daniel to come early and attend the wedding and that was a tender mercy.
