Spending time with the girls

While I was in Orlando, Bianca asked if I could come to watch the girls while they went on a date night to celebrate their anniversary and I am all for that! It was also Bianca's birthday the next day so we had some ladies from the ward over for dinner. We made Salvadoran and Mexican food.

Mom's foot surgery

A few months ago, I learned that my mom would get her toe amputated due to an infection that never went away. She is diabetic. She has gone through so much in the past three years because of her disease and now her spirits were down so I volunteered to come for almost a month to be with her.

My mom has always been a very optimistic person so that concerned us, her daughters so we are taking turns to come be with her. We were praying so that she could travel to Mexico, and Idaho before she had her surgery.

The picture of the hands were taken right as I came in from the airport since Vanessa was leaving the next morning and Liz the following day after her.

We are thankful that my mom was able to get that surgery done and that all went well with it. She needs to wear special kind of shoes and that has been a little problematic because she sometimes was wearing normal shoes that compressed her foot and that is how it got infected. Now she knows only to wear shoes specially made for diabetics. We are thankful the surgery went well and she is recovering quickly.
