Christmas break

We went to Punta del Este between December 25 to December 29 and were able to visit with Daniel's   mom and brothers. This time Estela couldn't come. We rented a 3 bedroom condo through Airbnb large enough for Gabriel, Danae, Vale and us. The main purpose of this trip was to see Nela.

Devocional con los empleados

Today was the Christmas devotional. Each member of the area presidency and Daniel presided over one of the four devotionals. Elder De Hoyos stayed in Argentina, elder Bragg went to Paraguay, Elder Villar went to his beloved Chile and Daniel went to his homeland, Uruguay. The only thing is that I had asthma and had a bad cough which was not fun but somehow I managed to speak just fine by taking a lot of water.

Our first guests

Today I went to pick up Gave and Danae at the airport. They are the first guests at our home. They have not come back to Buenos Aires since they left 6 years ago so they plan to stay for a month. We went to all their favorite restaurants but the best food was at our home! Yum!

Thanksgiving in Utah

Daniel asked special permission to leave the area because he has something on his face that needed to be checked and we are so glad we did. I also needed to see my foot doctor. I also got a chance to go to the TOFW (Time out for women) which I did't even know they were having it until I saw a friends's Facebook post. That is what I call serendipity. We went to tithing settlement and saw Michael Marcheschi. He has not started to build his home yet. Paid our property taxes. It was thanksgiving which is not celebrated in Argentina so being there for that was the icing on the cake! Went on the black Friday special to buy things for our apartment like a vacuum and stuff for the apartment.  Bought gifts for Christmas. Saw Nacho, Anais, Matias and kids.  We needed other things from Costco to bring home. Went to see Layna play the violin and got all our Christmas cards sent! We also saw Mandy on her birthday which never happens because we are so far away. It only snow one day. What a blessed  vacation.

Idaho trip

I went to Boise from November 6 - 16 to help Cristi while she went to take classes to receive accreditation as a therapist. she needs so many hours each year of instruction so I am glad I could come to help her. This week she also had Joy school at her home for Asher and his friends. The Dames had the kids and grandkids for an early Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday because they were going to be out of town.

to Montevideo via Buquebus. The boat was full of people who came to vote for el Frente. The presidential elections were on Sunday. We saw all of Daniel's family so that was nice!

Perito Moreno

From October 21 -25 we went to Perito Moreno to attend a mission Leadership Seminar. All the mission Presidents and their wives came except the Chilean Mission Presidents since they are experiencing political unrest. Elder and sister Nielsen came to preside over the training. He said: you get what you go for! or in other words, the grass is greener where you water it. Sister Nielsen said: don't make new rules. Follow the spirit. The funds are not to be used for gifts because some mission Presidents have a lot of money and some don't. Sister missionaries bring a special spirit to the mission and they have the power to teach and even at times are more successful than the Elders.

SALT

I went to this new event to feel of the passion of faithful women. This is a smaller event and more intimate than The Women's Conference or Time Out for Women. I love spending time with Cristi, Mandy and our cute Vera since at this event they allow you to bring babies.

President Nelson is here!

What an incredible day! President Nelson gave his remarks in Spanish. He had all the children first stand and said: "This is the hope of Israel, the children of the promise." The big message was the same that has been given since the beginning of time. "Obey the commandments of God."

Exploring friends

I am so grateful the expat sisters here in my ward who has created the group "exploring friends" to go out exploring Buenos Aires. There is too much to see and so much to do in this beautiful city.

Just around Buenos Aires, there are over 100 museums and historical sites. We use public transportation to get around which is new for me.

Our new home

July was a busy month for us. We sold two properties and purchased an apartment in The City Creek Regent Condominiums, the address is: 35 E. 100 South #1309 Salt Lake City, UT 84111. This unit belongs to the 13th ward same as the Allred's ward. That is our third investment in City Creek.

The 2019 family photo

This reunion was to celebrate 10 years together as a blended family and it is the very first time we have been together as a family under one roof so it was long overdue.  Happy anniversary to us this year and eternity to come!

The Food

For the Reunion we asked people who were assigned to prepare a meal to send us their shopping list for us to buy the food and if purchased, to give us the receipt to get reimbursed and if they had dietary restrictions to let people know about them so there was plenty of food to go around at each meal for seconds and even thirds!

The activities

We asked Mandy, Sydney and Vale to plan a fun activity for us to do and they came up with breaking piƱatas, a movie night and Bingo. They were so much fun!
