My kind of Flowers

Thinking of my sister today as I saw these beautiful flowers. There are so many things that the Philippines remind me of home and one of those is their vegetation and flowers. My sister Liz has the luxury of cutting these type of flowers from her own back yard. Lucky! These flowers made me homesick today :(

Hermosa ward

Like every Sunday we go to a different ward to look at the surroundings and this time we were asked to speak at the Hermosa ward. We then continue to see another chapel that has burned down. Apparently a ventilator was left on that caused the fire. Sad!

Baguio

Over the weekend,  March 9 and 10 we were in Baguio.

We stopped to get a few souvenirs, went to see several chapels on Sunday and to the Family History booth at the fair but coming home I had an upset stomach that lasted all the seven hour drive back home.

Needless to say,  I had to stop at every CR available on the way. I was sick as a dog like I had never been before in the Philippines and I am not sure what it was that made me sick  but the only good that came out of this ordeal is that I lost three pounds.

Blending in as a Filipina

Each Sunday Daniel and I attend a different ward to meed the Filipino fellow members of the Church and I try my very best to blend in as a Filipino woman. Here is an example. Do I look like a native? I believe, I do!

Singapore 2019

When I told my mother of our trip to Singapore, the first thing she asked was: Did you go see the orchids? Yes, we did! That was probably the highlight of the trip. My mom still remembers the botanical garden from 40 years ago, when she visited Singapore in 1975. Wow, what a sharp memory!

Singapore is a beautiful city and country and we were so lucky to have gone there with the most beautiful people on this planet as well. It is of no coincidence that the cluster meeting was held in Singapore, a city with a vision since it was founded.

Today, they are getting ready for the next 50 years the same way the Church is getting ready as well. We are more than ever picking up the pace and doing all we can to welcome the Savior once again and is of no coincidence that President Nelson is leading the way to prepare His Kingdom for the second coming. Yes, we are the people who have made the covenants to be of aid on this great effort.

Bottom line, that is what these meetings are all about. To help us understand what is our vision and mission. Those four days from February 24 to February 28th were glorious. Daniel and I were edified, fortified and spiritually nourished. We are more committed to the cause of gathering Israel bringing souls to return to Him like never before!

Con amor,
Vero
