We are moving to Argentina

Finally, I can spill the beans because it’s official. We are moving to Argentina in May. Yes, that is next month! We took the news with mixed emotions because on one hand, we were sad to learn that our assignment in the Philippines came to an end.

You see, For the past 45 months, I pretended to be a Filipina. I blended in so well and my husband had a wonderful opportunity to work with incredible, service oriented, faithful and very Christ like people. They made us feel like we were home so what more could you ask?

We will miss our Filipino friends whom we love and respect. We will treasure these past years deep in our hearts but on the other hand, we are excited about our new adventure and looking forward to serving in the South America South Area. Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, here we come!

It's a girl!

In the old days you never knew if you were going to give birth to a girl or a boy and it was always a surprise but not now. The gender is known for months but not the name. Our beautiful granddaughter  was born today on April 18th 2019 and they are still debating on a name. I feel so blessed I came all the way from the Philippines to meet her.

Joy School

I am in Eagle Idaho waiting for the arrival of our newest granddaughter, Cristi looks very pregnant due any day and Brooks is out of town, of course! The Dames are finally going to have a girl after three boys so we can't wait! We wonder what she looks like?

Today Cristi was in charge of Joy School at her house.Joy School is pure joy! I used to do this type of pre-school when my girls were little and loved it. Amazing that my girls are now doing the same thing. The creators of Joy School, Richard and Linda Eyre, are our neighbors who are managing a book club in the City Creek apartment. How cool is that!

Filipino traditional dress

I had wanted so much to buy a beautiful traditional dress from the Philippines but you really need to have the figure for that so the best thing to do was to ask someone wearing the dress to take a photo with me and that is as close as I would ever get wearing one of those.

The dress is called Baro Saya that literally means shirt and skirt. It is compose of a special blouse and a long skirt. It's April 1st and my silly side of me wanted to announce an April Fool's joke but I don't want to confuse anyone. We have not received our new assignment yet. We are still very much enjoying our time here in the philippines.

Vale is coming to the Philippines tomorrow and that is not an April Fools day joke, she is on her way on a work assignment. Yay! I am trying to figure out where we should take care.
