Cluster meeting in Cusco

The DTA cluster meeting for 2015 was in Cusco, Peru. from March 20th to 25th. with Bishop Causeé. The city of Cusco has remained almost intact since 1998 when we were there. Except that there are very nice hotels. We stayed at the Marriott there. On Monday March 23 we got up early around 5:00 am to take a bus to take us to the train station and then another bus that would take us to the mouth of Machu-pichu. They get 2,500 visitors daily during the high season.

This time of the year is not the high season but sometimes it rains like it did this day. Daniel was caring this heavy back pack with water that we didn't even drink because it was not hot at all. We had about three hours to tour the ruins and then went to eat lunch and back to the hotel. We climb and climb and climb but never got to the very top because it started to rain. (That is a good excuse to go back.) I bought a baby alpaca shall and some hats but wished I brought some jewelry. We were given coca tea in Cusco because people get sick from the altitude but a doctor had recommended taking some medicine so we were fine. This trip was a dream come true!
