Timepiece Ranch

From July 27 to July 31, I experienced the joy of seeing my beautiful daughter Bianca get a break. She had told me about wanting to write a children's book but never has found the time to do it with four energetic kiddos to care for. Two in kindergarten and two still in diapers. I knew deep in my heart how much she would benefit from the writer's retreat hosted by Richard Paul Evans at the Timepiece Ranch in Southern Utah so I invited her to come along.

I am writing a memoir and wanted to attend it last year but I couldn’t. After I heard people raved about it, I wanted to go this year no matter what and I convinced Bianca to come. I am grateful she accepted. This experienced opened my eyes as a writer and no doubt, it changed my life for the better and Bianca’s too. She was all ears, taking notes. She even got to perform which she hasn’t done in years.

We both had such a blast! We laughed and cried together and even got lost too. Lucky for us, Bianca knew who to call for help and the angels came. Richard and Diane went to find us and even drove in the muddy dirt road to where the car was stuck to pick up our things. It had been raining cats and dogs!

The next day, Lynn and Richard got the car out of the mud. What a relief that was for me since it was a borrowed car.  I always suspected I had issues with sense of direction and this incident confirms it. I didn’t know where North was! I very important thing to know when following a map. It was hard to leave the Ranch. It is such a beautiful peaceful place where I learned so much from some of the most amazing humans you could meet on this planet!
