The Masungi Georeserve Hike

Once upon a time in June of 2017 ten Makati ward sisters went on a hike to Masungi Genoreserve. The group was made up of avid hikers and some enthusiasts like me.

The hike would start at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at around 2:00 p.m. But before we would have a meeting where it was explained what to expect. That is a 4 hour hike in the hottest and most humid day I had ever experienced.

It all went fine until I got very hot and started to hyperventilate but thanks to the care of those around me I was able to make it o.k.

This hike literally took my breath away!

I was mandatory to wear helmets because we would go into some caves.  We took the water we needed but for me it wasn't enough. I learned that next time I need to carry more water and to not carry anything that could hold me back. I should also not do this hike if I am over weight because carrying those extra pounds makes it very tough.

The cave was not so dark because it had some openings and those are my favorite kind of caves. It even had a nice smell from the flowers.

Out of ten sisters what would be the odds that two were born in El Salvador and one in Honduras?

We were all smiles but honestly we were dying of the heat. Our faces were very red.

This hike was unique because instead of climbing a normal trail we would have to climb a gigantic rope. It was the only way to get from point A to point B almost as if it was a zip line. Sometimes we had to go forwards and other times we had to go backwards.

The spider web was one of the highlight of our trip.

I felt right at home.  I could closed my eyes and thought I was in El Salvador.

The hike was 1,500 pesos or $30.00 dollars per person because it included being able to use a rest room before and after the hike, and a snack at the end of the hike.

Visit of Bishop Waddell

We got up early today to pick up Bishop Waddell to take him to the Beehive clothing to tour the plant and for a devotional. Afterwards he shook hands with everyone and had a picture taken. He is 6.5 tall. And told us how he used to play both basketball and volleyball.

Favorite Things!

Favorite things, Gift Exchange
Food and ambience
This was a nice Christmas party at Alma's house. She asked each one of us to bring seven gifts to exchange. Seven of the same thing.

We wrote our names on a piece of paper and those people got our gifts. We explain why the item we gave out was our favorite thing at Christmas.

She moved her furniture outside to accommodate all of us. I guess there were about 20 of us. This is one idea I will do next Christmas when we go to Utah.

Is this Bariloche or Park City? Actually this is Tagaytay Highlands, Philippines where the HR seminar took place.
The road was foggy and rainy.
Log cabin where we spent the night.  Our Selfie and Daniel and me with the HR employees.

Director's seminar

For two nights and three days Oct. 17th to the 19th we stay at the Marriott by the airport to attend the Directors retreat with our spouses. This was the semi-anual activity when the directors who report to Daniel receive training from what Daniel has learned from the Bishopric. This time we also got a chance to be together with the wives and husbands to have training on leading like the Savior and did a cute ornament out of paper. On the last day we even went to the Bazar.
