visit of Elder Rasband

Today Elder Rasband presided over a devotional at the area office. Daniel was asked to bear his testimony before the Rasband's spoke. This was a surprise to Daniel because he didn't know he had to speak beforehand. Daniel told everyone of his experience when he worked with Elder Dickson who said he would dedicate his life to the Church and that is exactly what Daniel wants to do. Daniel later on went with them to the Greater Manila temple site where this photo was taken. 

Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year is a big Holiday in the Philippines. Everywhere you look you see the color red adorning the city.

Daniel had to work even though it was a Holiday but in the evening we went out to celebrate.

Girls day out!

Finally we got to get together to see a show "The Greatest Showman" Every so often we go out to eat or  do something fun with our sisters we go visiting teaching. We don't always do a lesson but we do talk a lot and that is a lesson in it of itself. At least, is what we think.

Our Sunday outings

Each  Sunday we attend a different chapel. There are so many here in the Philippines that it would take 11 years to visit each one every Sunday. We went to see three near Tagaytay. It was fast and testimony meeting so a bore my testimony. I love getting to know the people who have so much faith. I love that my husband takes his work so serious to always go the extra mile. He is tactically "working" even on Sundays because he is that special.

Dinner with an uninvited guest

Went to Church about an hour away and we got everything ready to have dinner with the Haynies and the Hoems who are serving as our mental health missionaries. I got a cake to sing happy birthday to Daniel but what was so funny and a little embarrassing is that out of no where a huge cockroach by our window came into the scene as we were eating dinner. I tried to pretend like I didn't see it hoping to get rid of it as soon as our guests left but  that is when one of our guests said there is a cockroach behind the climbing the curtain so at  that point his wife took her shoe off and smashed it and that pretty much ended our fabulous dinner.

Making a journal

Today we had a great Relief Society activity to learn about journaling and family history so I made a few of those journals to give away and one to keep. I have started the habit of writing something each night before going to bed about what my day was like and I think is fun going back to read about it when time has passed. 

HR Seminar

We woke up around 6:00 a.m. went to have breakfast and Nika had brought a cake for my belated birthday. How special! Then we went to listen to Daniel's presentation and to Ocean Adventure. We saw two shows and took photos with the dolphins. the Hotel we said Camayan Beach Resort was next to the park and the shore. It has a nice swimming pool.
